VOLUNTEER AT HEARTLAND

The Heartland Volunteer Program provides a meaningful opportunity for members to engage in therapeutic activities while supporting the care of horses at our estate. Through volunteer work, participants contribute to the well-being of our equine residents while embarking on their own healing journey.

DURATION

Volunteers are welcome to participate in scheduled sessions or ongoing activities as per their availability and interest and the needs of the estate.

ACTIVITIES
  • Assisting with daily chores such as mucking stalls, feeding, and grooming horses.
  • Participating in equine-assisted post-traumatic growth sessions by qualified professionals.
  • Engaging in farm maintenance tasks, including landscaping, fencing, and general upkeep.

SHADOWING PROGRAM

The Heartland Shadowing Program offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about equine care and estate management to gain hands-on experience by shadowing our experienced head trainers. Participants will learn essential skills and techniques in horse care, stable management, and estate activities related to the well-being of our horses.

DURATION

The program is available every Friday.

STRUCTURE
  • Participants will have the chance to shadow our head trainers as they carry out their daily routines and responsibilities.
  • Activities may include grooming, feeding, exercising, and basic veterinary care under the guidance of our trainers.
  • Participants will also gain insights into estate management tasks such as facility maintenance, equipment handling, and pasture management.
